The date for your school’s annual return has been moved back a month this year due to the changeover to the new TRB Online.
The annual return (sometimes referred to as the school census) captures all teaching staff and must be signed off by the Principal or an employer delegate.
We usually require the annual return to be completed at 1 July and submitted by 1 August.
This year it should be completed on 31 July and submitted by 1 September.
The annual return is mandatory under the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
Schools need to verify that all teaching staff hold valid provisional, full, or specialist VET registration, or a limited authority to teach.
This serves as a critical compliance check for child safety purposes across Tasmanian schools.
To complete your school’s annual return, just go to the TRB Online Employer Portal, choose Annual Return from the top-right menu and follow the prompts.
