Thanks to teachers like you, we now understand the profession better than ever with the ATWD’s latest data. We know that:
- Full-time classroom teachers report long hours during school term (median of 50 hours per week)
- 40% of the workforce has 6–19 years’ experience in the teaching profession
- 56% of early career teachers reported receiving a formal induction, with mentoring and reduced face-to-face teaching hours being the most useful activities
- 34% of teachers are unsure if they’ll stay in the profession until their retirement
