Early Registration Pathway
Early Registration is for Australian initial teacher education (ITE) students who have completed all course requirements but are yet to graduate. Early Registration can allow you to start employment as a teacher prior to officially graduated from the ITE degree.
Eligibility Critera
To be eligible for early teacher registration in Tasmania you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Able to provide confirmation from a higher education institute that the applicant has completed all course requirements and is eligible to graduate from an approved, accredited initial primary and/or initial secondary teaching course.
- Have a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).
- Be of good character and fit to teach.
- Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements.
Qualification Condition
A qualification condition will be attached to the Early Registration: Provide the Board with the required evidence of graduation from an accredited initial teacher education program within the first year of teacher registration.
You will need to provide the required graduation evidence within your first year of teacher registration to satisfy the condition.
Important: If you already have a current Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) application in place, you should contact the TRB to discuss your case, as Early Registration might not be beneficial.
