The Teachers Registration Board has been established to ensure that all children in Tasmanian schools are taught by skilled and qualified teachers, who are of good character.

As well as registering teachers, the Board will promote the teaching profession, take action to improve professional teaching standards, undertake relevant reviews and research projects and develop and maintain a code of professional ethics for the teaching profession.
